Tofu: the adaptable bean curd

Tofu, or bean curd, is a great source of protein and very low in fat. That's why it's popular among vegetarians.


I've always wondered by vegetarians in the West use tofu so plainly. It's as if they're scared that adding to it will make it less nutritious. Tofu is like a blank slate, you MUST add to it in order for it to make sense! It's fantastic fried, braised, boiled, steamed and whatever else you can think of.
