Sri Lanka is known as the "pearl of the Indian Ocean" and its food is a genuine, shiny find, too.


When I was in elementary school, I met a wonderful, smiling girl who told me she was from Sri Lanka. She was Sinhalese. I remember her as an incredibly positive person whose wide smile was always present. Since then, I have met many other Sri Lankans and have wondered about their food.
